Ascend Jiujitsu was founded by husband and wife team Michael and Lynsey Koch, who share a lifelong commitment to movement, health and holistic living. With over 30 years of martial arts experience, Michael (“Kochy”) brings discipline, resilience and mastery to the mats through world-class jiujitsu coaching and personal training.
Lynsey, a clinical nutritionist and founder of Seed & Sprout Nutrition, complements this with a focus on whole-body wellbeing, evidence-based nutrition and sustainable, natural practices. Together, they’ve created a space where movement and health come together empowering people to train with purpose, nourish their bodies and thrive in every aspect of life.
Beyond the Mats
Ascend was born from a husband-and-wife team (Michael and Lynsey Koch) who could never find the kind of gym they truly needed. Taking a leap into a new space that combines yoga, nutrition, functional movement, Brazilian jiujitsu and striking fitness.
We wanted to offer something different; a place that supports every area of life. Our vision is one of open learning where knowledge is shared and everyone becomes a student for life. Located in the heart of Moffat Beach, Ascend is a community space for all people to train, grow and connect in an environment built on respect, balance and genuine care for wellbeing.
